OK, I Know What is the best media..... How do I tell before buying?

I was told in this group that Taiyo Muden makes the best CDR media. While shopping for new blanks the other day I looked at all the packaging and found no reference on any of it as to who made it. The best I could do was made in Japan or Taiwan or Malaysia. I looked at the discs for a manf code and could find none.
